Special Town Meeting
There will be a Special Town Meeting, December 3, 2007, at 6:00PM at the Kelley Auditorium located in the Mount Desert Elementary School, on 8 Joy Road, in Northeast Harbor.
This meeting is to consider and vote on 25 warrant articles for the Town's six-month transition budget. Article 10 asks for approval to raise and spend $400,000 for "design of the reconstruction of the Somesville Sewer Treatment Plant on Parker Farm Road." Article 16 seeks voter approval to accept a gift of up to $75,000 "for the purpose of hiring a planner to assist the Planning Board in an analysis and updating of the Subdivision and Land Use Zoning Ordinances."
Our Town Charter requires at least 50 voters for a quorum; your attendance is strongly encouraged.
