IMPORTANT INFORMATION for the Town of Mount Desert ABOUT E.M.R.'s policy on 2000 Pound Limit regarding caretakers:
Town of Mount Desert Public Works Director Tony Smith spoke with Lee Worcester at EMR. As requested on their form, 2000 Pound Account - Property Owner Authorization Form, a property owner must sign off on the form and list the individuals, including the caretakers, they anticipate will be taking material to EMR under the 2000-pound section of the contract. EMR has not had excessive abuse or problems with the 2000-pound section but enough to warrant this new form. Depending upon the circumstances, EMR will not turn people away that arrive without it. The attendant will explain the form and require it the next time the person is through. This will be done on a case-by-case basis.
