We have been receiving inquiries from residents about Verizon’s expansion of DSL in Maine. I have called Verizon to get updated information. They do not have new information other than what is in the papers.
If a resident calls asking what we know please let them know the availability of service depends on their location and to find out if DSL is available they should call Verizon at 800-870-9999 and provide their phone number, the Verizon associate will then determine if DSL is available.
If residents have internet access, even dial up, they should go to [Link]www.verizon.com, click on the internet tab and enter their phone number. Verizon has told me the availability information from the website should be accurate.
