Weather permitting, we have been informed that construction of the improvements to crosswalks in various locations throughout town will begin September 9, 2019. As part of the process and due to the nature of the work, the contractor will be moving from one crosswalk to another to construct them, possibly returning to different ones a number of times until all are completed. For example, five might be worked on at “the same time” with, e.g. existing curbing and affected sections of sidewalk being removed from all five of them one after the other. Following this work on the fifth one, they will return to the first one to begin installation of the new curbing and sidewalk including the required ADA components, followed by paving at crosswalks number 1 thru 5 then installation of new signs at crosswalk numbers 1 thru 5.
