No Ordinary Time

During this long twilight struggle it may be difficult to foresee the day we emerge from darkness, to dawn, but one must be in the darkest valley to truly appreciate the majesty of the mountain top.

Heed the wisdom of Dr. Nirav Shah and Dr. Anthony Fauci. They prescribe bitter, but necessary medicine. Social Distancing is the only “vaccine” that is currently available.

In the spring of 1940 standing alone and near collapse England rallied around the words of Winston Churchill. Use his courageous words as inspiration as we battle this unseen enemy, “Whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.”

As we awake from this nightmare, let us also seize the opportunity to become better people. Embrace those we love, but just as importantly. forgive our perceived adversaries their transgressions, kindle a spirit of friendship; work together to build a vibrant, just, and caring community; liberate the better angels of our nature; cast off the shackles of destructive self-serving indifference.

We are all in the trenches now; remember as Benjamin Franklin wrote, “If we do not hang together then we most assuredly will hang separately”.
