Schedule: Northeast Harbor Main Street Improvements Project April, 2022

Location of work: the Work Area for January is generally Main Street from the Sea Street to Neighborhood Road.

Traffic Control: During construction, one way traffic in the southerly direction will be maintained. 

There may be occasions when there are temporary waits to pass due to a task being worked on.  We will strive to keep this to a minimum.

Main St. Access:  During construction, we ask that drivers try to avoid driving through the construction zone if possible.

Most locations on Main Street can be accessed by more than one route.

North Parking Lot Access: Access to the public will be maintained at the North Parking Lot. Temporary closures of parking spots may occur from time to time depending on the task being worked on, but we will strive to keep this to a minimum.

Schedule: Subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.  Schedule assumes Consolidated Communications is able to complete their work in April.

March 30ᵗʰ, 31ˢᵗ, April 1ˢᵗ:

• Cut pavement, install light bases on the East side of Main Street, beginning on South end of project and headed North.

Week of April 4th: 

• Cut pavement, continue installing light bases heading North.
• Install Conduit along the east edge of the road beginning from the south end, connecting all the light bases together.

Week of April 11:

• Excavate sidewalk area on East side, install base gravel beginning on the South end of Main Street

Week of April 18:

•Continue North excavating sidewalk area on East side
•Install granite curb on East side of Main Street, beginning on the South end of the project.
•Starting on the South end, fine grade gravel base at sidewalks

Week of April 25: 

•Install concrete sidewalks on East side of Main Street staring at the South end.
•Continue fine grading gravel base at sidewalks.
