Street Sweeper Update
On May 9, 2018, our street sweeper was returning to the highway garage from Seal Harbor on State Route 3/Peabody Drive. When the driver was approximately two-tenths +/- of a mile from the Asticou Inn a large chunk of ledge peeled off the adjacent ledge face and struck the front right corner of the sweeper. Our employee suffered minor injuries but otherwise is fine. The sweeper, by all counts, is totaled – inoperable. It had to be returned to the highway garage on a lowbed tractor trailer. We are awaiting official word on the condition of the sweeper from our insurance adjuster sometime this week. In the meantime, we are attempting to locate a sweeper we can lease by the hour, day, week, etc. to get us by. We will get to the un-swept roads as soon as reasonably possible. Thank you for your understanding.
