Northeast Harbor Main Street Improvements Project
December, 2019 through January, 2020
Location of work: the Work Area for December and January this season is primarily on the Southern end of the project and from Sea Street south.
Traffic Control: During construction, one way traffic in the southerly direction will be maintained. There may be occasions when there are temporary waits to pass due to a task being worked on. We will strive to keep this to a minimum.
Main St. Access: During construction, we ask that drivers try to avoid driving through the construction zone if possible. Most locations on Main Street can be accessed by more than one route.
Schedule: Subject to change due to weather or unforeseen conditions.
Week of December 9:
• Install water main on Main Street
• Install storm drain on South end
• Install 6” HDPE water line on Neighborhood Road
Week of December 16:
• Test and Disinfect water main on Main Street
• Install 4” fire protection services
• Continue storm drain between Sea Street and Kimball Lane
Week of December 23:
• Install domestic water services on Main Street
• Continue storm drain between Sea Street and Kimball Lane
• Test and disinfect 6” HDPE water on Neighborhood Road
• No work on December 25th in observance of Christmas
Week of December 30:
• Install water services on Neighborhood
• Install storm drain on Neighborhood
• Install 8” storm drain on Main Street
• No work on January 1st in observance of New Year’s Day
Week of January 6:
• Install 8” storm drain on Main Street
• Remove ledge on West side of Main Street in preparation for installation of electrical vaults
Week of January 13:
• Remove ledge in preparation for installation of electrical vaults
• Install electrical vaults on West side of Main Street
Week of January 20:
• Install electrical vaults on West Side of Main Street
• Begin electrical trenching under sidewalk under West side of Main Street starting at the South end and headed North
Week of January 27:
• Install electrical trenching under sidewalk under West side of Main Street headed North from the South end
OCTOBER and NOVEMBER

• Disinfect 12” water main on Summit
• Install water services on Summit
• Install Valve on Main Street
• Begin 12” water main at South End headed North
• Begin storm drain at Sea Street headed North
Week of October 28:
• Continue 12” water main on South End headed North
• Continue storm drain between Sea Street and Summit
• Disinfect 12” water main on Main Street Week of November 4:
• Install water services on Main Street
• Install storm drain on Main Street, North of Summit
• Install 6” HDPE water on Kimball Road
Week of November 11:
• Install water services on Main Street
• Install storm drain on Main Street, North of Summit
• Install storm drain cross-pipes and basin inlets starting at Sea Street headed North
Week of November 18:
• Install storm drain cross-pipes and basin inlets starting at Sea Street headed North
• Test and disinfect 6” HDPE water on Kimball
• Start Sewer North of Sea Street, headed North Week of November 25:
• Install Storm Drain on South end
• Continue Sewer to Summit
• Thanksgiving – No work Thursday or Friday
