Village Planning Workshops Summary Report

The Town of Mount Desert held the first of a series of village planning meetings between October and November of 2022. These workshops were held in Seal Harbor, Otter Creek, and Somesville. In total, over 150 residents participated either in-person or by responding to a digital survey.

 

This report provides an overview of the events and identifies common themes from the discussions. Appendix A includes photos from each workshop; Appendix B, C, and D include scans of the workshop materials (notes and maps); and Appendix E includes the survey responses of the people who could not attend in-person. The information from these workshops will inform comprehensive plan discussions and future zoning and land use regulations.
